Work With Groups

This unit provides learners with the opportunity to explore the possibilities and challenges of group information, advice and guidance delivery, and allows them to reflect on the differences between delivery to groups and individuals, as well as how to plan and evaluate sessions as an essential part of good practice.

The unit has four learning outcomes:

  • Recognise the role of group work in information, advice or guidance.
  • Understand the factors which can influence the effectiveness of information, advice or guidance group sessions.
  • Know how to plan, conduct and evaluate information, advice and guidance sessions.
  • Understand the skills required to establish co-operative working relationships within information, advice or guidance group sessions.
