Reflecting on Own Practice

The unit provides the opportunity for you to reflect on your practice, to understand how to maintain effectiveness, and the ways to integrate information, advice, or guidance principles into service delivery. It also encourages you to reflect on areas for personal development and how to set achievable personal goals.

This unit has five learning outcomes:

  • Understand their role and contribution in achieving their own organisation’s objectives.
  • Understand how to identify own personal development opportunities.
  • Create an action plan to meet your own personal development objectives.
  • Recognise how own beliefs, attitudes, and behaviours may impart own work and that of the organisation.
  • Understand the need for accountability and adherence to codes of practice in information advice and guidance.

This units learning and assessment materials also meet the learning assessment criteria for the Unit 3 learning outcome 6; Identify personal development needs.

  • 6.1. Summarise own strengths and their relevance to information, advice or guidance.
  • 6.2. Plan own knowledge and skills development
