Providing Information

This unit provides learners with an opportunity to explore and evaluate range of relevant useful and up-to-date sources and materials which can be used in information advice or guidance delivery and to use these to identify progression routes for clients. It also enables them to investigate ways in which information technology can be used to aid delivery.

The unit has four learning outcomes:

  • Understand information needs of clients within own contexts.
  • Know the range and relevance of information available to clients within own context.
  • Understand how to use computer-based packages to identify information, advice or guidance needs of clients within own context.
  • Know how to plan progression routes and methods to meet client’s needs and requirements within own context.
