Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) Statutory Guidance

The RSE guidance document contains information about what schools need to do and sets out the legal duties with which schools must comply when teaching Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education.

This statutory guidance is aimed at and should be read by:

• Governing bodies of maintained schools (including schools with a sixth form) and non-maintained special schools
• Trustees or directors of academies and free schools;
• Proprietors of independent schools (including academies and free schools);
• Management committees of pupil referral units (PRUs);
• Teachers, other school staff and school nurses;
• Head teachers, principals and senior leadership teams;
• Diocese and other faith representatives; and for reference for relevant local authority staff.

How to take good notes!

Note-taking is a skill that can help you do well with any learning and personal development you undertake — Here are some tips on how to take good notes.

Write down key facts. Remember to write down only the most important points. Does the document mention and duties which have to be done? Does it provide any examples? Anything which seems important – Write it down!

Don’t go crazy taking notes, some people learn better when writing down a few key points, and then going over the material a few times.

Use colours, highlighters, underlining, arrows, list, bullet points or bubbles. Whatever it is that makes note taking work for you.

Going over your notes with another learner and comparing what the two of you put down can help develop your understanding. It also can help you remember information.
